The Velocity Spectrum.
In this modern era, we face, yet again, a Great Power Conflict challenge. Consequently, we must prepare for combat at the high-end of the conflict spectrum. As we prepare for battle we also must develop an understanding of the velocity spectrum, because quite simply, we will be operating at the high-end of both: conflict and velocity .
And as history teaches, the airborne battle space is a show-stopper. If we do not win the air war, we do not win the war.
Rule #1 for Sonic Warriors: If battle occurs at the high end of the conflict spectrum, it will absolutely occur at the high end of the velocity spectrum.
This was true in Korea, and it remains true today.
Today with our advanced weaponry, we can field advanced airborne weapons systems with elite capabilities such as: off bore-sight weapons cuing; sensor fusion; multi-perspective viewing; and network warfare.
And yet with all of this capability we will not arrive at the leading edge of the battle space ready to fight. Our show-up rate for the battle space is now a dismal 25% for our front-line fighter with max speed an inadequate Mach 1.6.
And besides questionable showing-up, if we cannot enter the airborne battle space with a positive delta mach, we cannot win because we cannot execute high-end tactical maneuvers. Thus, against a Great Power with super-cruise capability, we will not achieve mission success - we will not win.
We cannot win in battle because we cannot comprehend first order logic, which is possessing a comprehensive knowledge of the conflict spectrum as well as the velocity spectrum. The need for speed is paramount. We must perform with precision and execute high velocity combat maneuvers that the adversary cannot match.
